Scripture
Ephesians 5:14 "...for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."

15 "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is."

Mike's Thoughts
The great thing about Jesus is, when we are following Him, He will shine on us. Jesus' point in building the church is to create an environment where people are loved and encouraged. Through doing that, He is made known. Christ wants to shine on us because He knows we are his reflection. However, that can't happen if we aren't one as a church. We can't be one if we are sleeping.

Prayer
God, we pray that you wake us up. Wake us up so the church will be the image of your son. Wake us up to taking our next step in following you. Wake us up to expecting and experiencing life change. Use people around us to wake us up. Let our relationships be encouraging and at the same time, let them be truthful, so that it will ultimately bring you glory.
